Regulatory and Sector Security
Critical infrastructure operators, financial institutions and public bodies face increasingly specific cybersecurity obligations. Meeting them requires more than understanding the regulations. It requires technical work tailored to the systems, risks and operations of each organization.
ascio provides that expertise, from identifying critical systems and assessing risks to implementing security controls, testing their effectiveness and preparing the technical evidence regulators require.
Critical Cyber Systems Protection Act
Royal Assent June 15, 2026. Applies to operators in finance, telecommunications, energy and transportation once designated by order. Four duties: a cyber security program, supply chain and third party risk mitigation, incident reporting and compliance with directions. Not yet in force: commencement dates and designated operator classes will be set by order.
OSFI Guideline B 13
In effect since January 1, 2024 for federally regulated financial institutions. Covers governance and risk management, technology operations and resilience, and cyber security.
Quebec's Law 25
Fully in force since September 2024. Automated decision transparency, privacy impact assessments for projects and transfers, and breach reporting apply to any organization handling Quebec residents' information.

What we do
Applicability and scope
The systems, suppliers and data within reach of the Act or guideline that applies to you, identified so later technical work targets the right systems.
Critical system identification and risk assessment
The systems whose compromise would affect the service you deliver, and a technical risk assessment of each, in the form the Act or guideline expects.
Control implementation
Segmentation, identity, logging, backup and monitoring changes, implemented by ascio engineers or alongside your team and sequenced to the dates that bind you.
Incident reporting and response capability
Incident detection, escalation contacts and response exercises, so a reportable incident is identified and handled within the timelines the Act or regulator sets.
Supplier and third party security
Technical requirements for suppliers, assessments of critical vendors and the security schedules that go into contracts.
Evidence and regulator engagement
Technical records of the work completed, assembled for OSFI, the regulator or the authorizing department.
Official sources
The legislation and guidance referred to on this page, from the bodies that publish them.
Defined scope projects
Defined work with a stated scope and deliverables, from email domain protection to ransomware recovery testing. Everything else is scoped after a short call, with a fixed price for discovery.
